Forever 1. 17

This latest murder is supposedly an accident but when Dr. Morgan investigates further, he learns that it was really a clever murder. A member of a "hacktivist" group is dead and somebody wants the dirt to stay where it is. Threatened with having his secret exposed, Dr. Morgan makes a crucial decision that says a lot about his character. While interesting, this episode wasn't really popping for me.

Forever 1.16

A young college student is found murdered and traced back to an apartment room decorated like the 70s. Raising their suspicions, the team tracks down the girl's recent activities and become reunited with Iona - the dominatrix from a previous episode - who is now a professor. With her help, they find the real killer but at a great risk to one of them. I didn't much like this episode.

Forever 1.15

On a bright morning, Dr. Morgan leaves Abe to his genealogy research to investigate a supposed suicide of an exiled king. From his past experiences, Dr. Morgan has a personal connection to the case; he once saved the king's life when he was just a boy. They met on the Orient Express when Dr. Morgan was on his honeymoon with Abigail. When modern-day Dr. Morgan learns of the king's death, he visits the king;s widow to return a ring he was given and discovers that the king was assassinated and that someone is bent on wiping out the royal bloodline. Now an innocent young woman and her adorably cute baby are in danger.

I really enjoyed this episode, even though the honeymooners got a little too cuddly for some viewers. Luckily the baby was sound asleep by then. *winks*

Forever 1.14

At their current crime scene, Dr. Morgan and Detective Jo find priceless artwork stolen by the Germans during World War 2. One painting is missing while seven canvasses were cut from their frames, leading the team to believe that whoever killed the victim was after the paintings. The investigation leads them to an art dealer at an auction house, who suspiciously turns up brutally murdered as well when he tries to flee with the stolen paintings. Meanwhile, Abe has never known who his birth parents were, so when Adam comes into the store with an old ledger containing secrets of the past, Abe can finally solve his own personal mystery.

This episode was a lot bloodier than it should've been, considering it was mainly about stolen artwork. Other than that, it was pretty interesting. They should've made it more clear that the flashbacks took place before Dr. Morgan became immortal.

Forever 1.13

In this episode of Forever, Abe is all in an uproar when he discovers an article missing from his antique shop and demands that Morgan uses his "powers of observation" to solve his mystery. But Morgan has other things on his mind. A case involving a murderous hit and run lands directly on Detective Jo's past; her dead husband was the DA of the victim's past trial. This brings up painful old memories for her and Morgan does his best to be there for her, even up to the point when he almost gets her killed to save her life.

While I enjoyed this episode, I was disappointed that it didn't delve more into Detective Jo's past. I'm really starting to like her. Next week's episode looks exciting!

Forever 1.12

In a brand new episode of Forever, Henry Morgan returns after a three week absence to investigate the suspicious death of a wall street trader. With the secrets piling up, this is a case that looks like one thing and ends up being something else. Abe and his old army buddies even get involved at one point, to Morgan's horror. I was quite enjoying Detective Jo in this episode. Compared to Detective Beckett on Castle, she is very low-key and doesn't talk often, but when she does - it's usually worth listening to. And we get to dive into her past in next week's episode! Oh goody!

Forever 1.11

With a point to prove, Dr. Morgan’s mysterious stalker “Adam” kidnaps him in a cab in this week’s episode of Forever, and drives into the river just as he shoots himself in the head. But this stunt only proves to Dr. Morgan that his stalker is insane and very dangerous. His midnight swim gets him into a spot of trouble, but is a hilarious joke to his newfound friends in the police department. When a dead body stabbed by a sword turns up, Dr. Morgan goes on the hunt to find the killer, only to have the tables turned on him at the last minute by none other than “Adam.” With his fight or flight instinct kicking in, Morgan has a split-second decision to make regarding whether or not to tell Detective Jo about his secret and face the music.

This episode was explosive! I loved the Highlander reference made in the beginning by Lucas – so fitting to the overall plot of the episode – and Morgan being called “Dr. Crazy Crackers” was hilarious! It was also a treat and then some to see Mr. Guppy from Bleak House and Owen from Torchwood {same actor, I know} in this episode. The big reveal at the end totally took me by surprise; I loved it! My husband guessed it halfway through the show, though, so that wasn’t quite as fun. But I can’t wait to see what happens next! Pity we have a holiday break before new episodes return.

Forever 1.10

In Forever it's Dr. Morgan's day off but when a dead English noble is found in the park, Detective Jo gives him a call anyway and he gleefully leaves off cleaning his skull collection to investigate - much to the assistant detective what's-his-name's dismay since Dr. Morgan solves everything so quickly. Delving into the dead man's past, they quickly discover that he wasn't a nobleman at all; he was very skillfully coached to pull the oldest trick in the book and ended up doing the most cliche` thing possible - falling in love with his mark.

This was a pretty exciting {though very cliche`} episode. I only wish I could go to the DVR and watch next week's episode already! Such a cliffhanger ending!! I loved the opening scene with Abe and Dr. Morgan; threatening to microwave the food was so funny and if Abe had been a woman, he would've gotten pretty upset that Dr. Morgan was rushing off to work on his day off. But being a man, he was cool with it. Very humorous.

Forever 1.9

Yesterday's episode of Forever was, in all honesty, boring. When the son of a ripped off jazz musician is killed and his body burned inside his car, Dr. Morgan and Detective Jo investigate, digging up family secrets and a dirty corporate past. Meanwhile, Abe tries his best to win Dr. Morgan over to his love of jazz music.

I don't much care for jazz so I didn't find this episode interesting. But it was more enjoyable than last week's.

Forever 1.8

This latest episode of Forever was very weird. Dr. Henry Morgan and team investigate a suspicious murder of a man getting dominance therapy from a therapist with a history of crossing lines. When she starts taking an interest in Dr. Morgan, he becomes the killer's next target.

I don't like kinky, dominance, punishment or anything remotely connected to those things and I find them very disturbing when portrayed in movies, TV shows or books, so this episode was a bummer to me that I couldn't enjoy it. I did like getting a little more background to Dr. Morgan and wish they'd run with that more. The main plot isn't progressing enough for me.

Forever 1.7

So after DVR-ing Forever, I finally watched it yesterday. I must admit that it didn't really hold my attention. The plot of snobbish rich kids who kill someone {accidentally or on purpose varies} and then keep it a secret till someone tries to confess and then ends up dead is a worn-out plot for me. I've seen it done before multiple times before and it's not as interesting as it once was. That being said, it was still pretty fun to see Dr. Morgan interact with Detective Jo {who is getting special attention from her boss after the shooting of last week's episode} and Abe. Abe is definitely comic relief. It would've been nice to get more into Dr. Morgan's past and continue along the lines of what happened to Abigail, and also Detective's Jo's husband. I suppose that'll get picked back up later on in the season.

Next week's episode looks..... shady. Not sure how much I'm looking forward to watching it. But we'll see. I really want to see how the detective reacts to finding out Morgan is immortal but I bet that won't happen for as long as the writers can draw it out.

Forever 1.6

The latest episode of Forever was rather creepy. I didn't like it very much, but I am very intrigued to find out how Detective Jo will react when she learns that Dr. Morgan is immortal. It'll be cool. This episode was about the twosome trying to catch a serial killer who is a copycat of past killers - most notably Jack the Ripper. It adds a hint that perhaps the mysterious dude named Adam who keeps calling Dr. Morgan is a killer. It touches on the question of what do you do when you're immortal and have so much time on your hands? Dr. Morgan leans toward saving lives rather than taking them. In short, this episode was just too creepy for me. Hopefully next week's will be better.

Forever 5th Episode Thoughts

With such a vast experience, Dr. Morgan has seen history repeat itself enough times  to know that it will always repeat itself and never change. And he isn't surprised by that outcome. So when a boxer is found dead in a run-down neighborhood and had a dispute with the local land-developer, Dr. Morgan isn't surprised to find a suspicious trail interconnecting all over the little neighborhood that boils down to money. Meanwhile, Abe is busy trying to sell antiquities which is the business of his choice; this is increasingly difficult when Dr. Morgan doesn't want to sell anything because he has a sentimental attachment to most of the items in the shop. When you live forever, you really almost can keep your stuff as long as you want.

It'd be cool to see an episode where Dr. Morgan has to deal with the little inconveniences of immortality - like renewing his drivers' license, what happens when he has to relocate because the neighbors are all getting suspicious of his ageless looks, etc. It could be fun. Also, why do all these tough girl cops have bad dads that are either con men or just bad role models? Seriously? Can't they think of something different? I know that Beckett from Castle has a good dad {who doesn't come into the show nearly enough}, but everyone else doesn't. Just a thought.

Forever 3rd Episode

"Youth is wasted on the immortal," Abe dryly remarks as he sees Dr. Morgan gleefully disappearing back into his "dungeon of death" to investigate his latest clue in possibly unraveling his immortality while Abe looks out the window and longs for a taste of youth once more. One man is old and wants to be young again, while the other man is forever young and wants to grow old. But when the body of an old man, supposedly killed in a mugging, lands in Dr. Morgan's morgue, thoughts of old age and immortality are set aside. A trip to Chinatown with Detective Jo lends some surprising and somewhat odd results. Due to his long experience, Dr. Morgan is familiar with so-called miracle drugs that can extend life and he doubts they actually work. But when the young want to live forever and the old want to be young again, what's a disillusioned immortal to do?

This third episode of Forever dove a little bit more into Dr. Morgan's past and his relationship with Abe who is his adopted son. They're so cute together! I'm really enjoying this show play out in the gradual way it is. Lovely!

Forever 2nd Episode Thoughts

In the second episode of Forever, Henry Morgan brings the cops'attention to a young woman's death. Ruled as a suicide, the police view it as an open and shut case, but when Morgan points out certain small details, it looks like suicide is out the door for this one. Despite being told not to have anything to do with the case, Detective Jo teams up with the odd medical examiner to investigate the woman's death.

This episode expanded further on the hero's life somewhat - giving the impression that he does in fact know what it is to have children and to lose them, though considering the fact that he adopted Abe who is now an old man, he hasn't really lost a child. I thought Morgan snooping around was interesting; apparently when you're immortal, you're fearless of heights but scared of people finding out your secret.

Now, why is it that in all these shows the one guy {Shawn Spencer in Psych, the mentalist dude in The Mentalist, Rick Castle in Castle, etc.} is the person who notices all the small details that the police always overlook? Don't you think the trained detectives who've been doing this for longer would notice those kinds of things? Just a thought. Oh and I have a suspicion that in the show, Morgan's wife left him instead of dying as originally assumed.

With a fast-paced pilot, humor and some good attention-grabbing writing, this show has a lot of promise to it. Add in a few unique twists, such as returning in the water {sort of a rebirth kind of thing, maybe?}, Forever has enough originality to keep me interested.
