Nobody's Cuter Than You Book Review

22798880Title: Nobody's Cuter Than You.

Author: Melanie Shankle.

Genre: Christian, Nonfiction, Friendship, Memoir, Funny.

Plot: Through twenty-five years of friendship, Mrs. Shankle and her best friend Gulley have seen it all - breakups, marriages, babies, miscarriages, moving, and long road trips with vomiting kids in the backseat. And in this book, Mrs. Shankle shares her experiences with friendship, going all the way back to her first encounters as a care-free five year old.

Written in a funny lighthearted style that makes you laugh, cry and keep turning the pages even though you have dishes to do and a baby drooling on you while she sleeps, this book is a unique treasure that every bookshelf should have and every friend should read.

Likes/Dislikes: I loved this book! The cover was so nice {I'm one of those people that loves the texture of paper}, and the stories in it were hilarious, touching and moving. I wish I had such a close connection to my friends and that they lived close enough to go shopping with. My favorite quote is:

"But my personal favorite words of wisdom came from Gulley during the last thirty minutes of the trip, when she broke up a backseat scuffle by declaring, 'When you lick the person sitting next to you, there's a good chance you're going to get punched.'

I believe the only reason that gem is missing from the book of Proverbs is because Solomon must never have traveled with three kids in the back of his chariot."

Rating: PG - 14 and up, mainly for reading level and content {nothing at all graphic, just vague hints, very clean}.

The Big Bang Theory 8.20

This was an explosive episode! First, Sheldon is all mopey about being left out of a work party he thinks would be fun, so Amy decides to cheer him up by helping him build a blanket fort in the living room. Having so much fun, he decides to let her sleep over. Meanwhile, Penny and Leonard have a fight on a live podcast concerning money, jobs and her possibly working as an actress again. And Howard, now firmly living in his mom's house with Bernadette and Stuart, is shocked when he gets a surprise visitor he never knew existed.

I So Liked Spring

I so liked Spring last year
Because you were here;-
The thrushes too-
Because it was these you so liked to hear-
I so liked you.

This year's a different thing,-
I'll not think of you.
But I'll like the Spring because it is simply spring
As the thrushes do.
