The Big Bang Theory 8.11

This week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory  was a fun new holiday themed one. With Raj feeling down and out about his parents’ divorce and his father visiting, he doesn’t feel up to hosting his usual Christmas party so Amy eagerly steps in and forces Sheldon to attend. On their way to the party, Bernadette takes Sheldon shopping to find Amy a present that will make her “feel worthless.” His plan totally backfires on him, of course. Elsewhere, while Amy, Penny and Raj’s dad are playing old fashioned Victorian themed games, the guys are at the lab trying to figure out how to get rid of a pesky pigeon and arguing about who is smarter – Leonard or Howard.

Overall, a very fun episode and I loved the idea of a Victorian themed Christmas party, though I personally might’ve picked a few different games to play. *winks*

Forever 1.11

With a point to prove, Dr. Morgan’s mysterious stalker “Adam” kidnaps him in a cab in this week’s episode of Forever, and drives into the river just as he shoots himself in the head. But this stunt only proves to Dr. Morgan that his stalker is insane and very dangerous. His midnight swim gets him into a spot of trouble, but is a hilarious joke to his newfound friends in the police department. When a dead body stabbed by a sword turns up, Dr. Morgan goes on the hunt to find the killer, only to have the tables turned on him at the last minute by none other than “Adam.” With his fight or flight instinct kicking in, Morgan has a split-second decision to make regarding whether or not to tell Detective Jo about his secret and face the music.

This episode was explosive! I loved the Highlander reference made in the beginning by Lucas – so fitting to the overall plot of the episode – and Morgan being called “Dr. Crazy Crackers” was hilarious! It was also a treat and then some to see Mr. Guppy from Bleak House and Owen from Torchwood {same actor, I know} in this episode. The big reveal at the end totally took me by surprise; I loved it! My husband guessed it halfway through the show, though, so that wasn’t quite as fun. But I can’t wait to see what happens next! Pity we have a holiday break before new episodes return.

Silent Night

Silent night, Holy night

All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin, mother and child
Holy infant, tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, Holy night

Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.

Silent night, Holy night

Shepherds quake, at the sight
Glories stream from heaven above
Heavenly, hosts sing Hallelujah.
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born.

The Librarians Pilot

On Sunday a new TV show started up that holds a lot of promise and exciting adventure. It's called The Librarians and stars Noah Wyle as Flynn Carsen {the original Librarian}, Rebecca Romijn as Eve Baird, John Kim as Ezekiel Jones {what a funny name}, Christian Kane as Jake Stone, Lindy Booth as Cassandra Cillian, and John Larroquette as Jenkins.

Flynn Carsen started out as a novice Librarian in the three Librarian movies {which they conveniently showed before the show started so I was able to introduce them to my husband who thought that Kate Beckett from Castle was super cute in the third movie with her accent} and learned about stuff the hard way. Now he's a harden expert with a slight tilt toward loony. The library hires Eve Baird, a colonel, to be the new guardian - only problem is that Flynn doesn't want a guardian. However, he soon figures out that there may be a need for her after all when someone starts killing off possible librarian candidates. Racing to the rescue, the pair soon has Cassandra {a girl with a fantastic memory but also a deadly tumor}, Jake Stone {an art historian? I missed his special ability but love his sense of humor}, and Ezekiel Jones who is a master thief. The good guys just got reinforcements and Flynn decides to start changing the rules; the newbies are now librarians-in-training and a disgruntled Jenkins gets to train them.

Oh goody, this is gonna be fun! I already like Stone and Baird, but I don't like Cassandra very much. And Flynn, as my husband pointed out, is very much a similar character to the Doctor from Doctor Who - all smart, funny and a little loopy. *winks*

Once Upon a Time 4.11

I was right. This week's episode of Once was epic! We had so many hints and clues wrapped up neatly; why the Snow Queen took Emma's memories, and the message in the bottle being the major ones. Such a sweet scene at the end when Anna came to the rescue! It was exciting to see Regina in her old outfits and to see how much she has changed since then. Still not so sure about Rumple and his stupid plan.

The second half of the season features Cruella {however that's spelled}, Ursula and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. I thought they already covered Sleeping Beauty in previous episodes? Not sure how epic the second half is gonna be, but ya know, it could be interesting. I kinda like how they're turning it into two mini-seasons. Ooooh, maybe Maleficent will turn into a dragon?! I like dragons. :)

Forever 1.10

In Forever it's Dr. Morgan's day off but when a dead English noble is found in the park, Detective Jo gives him a call anyway and he gleefully leaves off cleaning his skull collection to investigate - much to the assistant detective what's-his-name's dismay since Dr. Morgan solves everything so quickly. Delving into the dead man's past, they quickly discover that he wasn't a nobleman at all; he was very skillfully coached to pull the oldest trick in the book and ended up doing the most cliche` thing possible - falling in love with his mark.

This was a pretty exciting {though very cliche`} episode. I only wish I could go to the DVR and watch next week's episode already! Such a cliffhanger ending!! I loved the opening scene with Abe and Dr. Morgan; threatening to microwave the food was so funny and if Abe had been a woman, he would've gotten pretty upset that Dr. Morgan was rushing off to work on his day off. But being a man, he was cool with it. Very humorous.
